how long did it take before you became really confident about your art?
Um..never? ;_; Seriously, I still struggle with that over pretty much every piece of art I create. Knowing and being surrounded by so many great artists, it’s hard to feel good enough or validated. I will say though, that within the past few months I do feel as though I’m finally getting to the point where the image I draw more or less matches the image in my mind, which is a great feeling. Art is a process and a journey. Sometimes I feel like I’m moving forward, sometimes I feel myself falling back, but it’s just about pushing forward and doing what you love.
Firstly, I am such a fan of your work - it's so happy :) Secondly, if you could live the life of any fictional character - who would it be?
Aww, thank yo so much! :)
Oh wow, that’s a tough one. My initial thought is someone in Harry Potter? Because going to Hogwarts would be so super awesome. Or maybe Tohru Honda so that I could meet and hang out with all the Sohma’s? Though I have also always wanted to be and X-Men… I’m nerding out over here just thinking of all the possibilities.
Noticed that Pottermore has been opened to all, yay! Maybe it’ll actually be interesting to play again! If anyone wants to add me as a friend, my name is WizardCat198. Leave your name so I know who’s who :)
Your art is really beautiful, thank you so much for adding me and for being such a great inspiration from the start! I'm honestly really overwhelmed by this, you're just really fantastic!
Aww, thank you! And your art is so great too! Your style is soooo cute and, oh my goodness, I love the way you color! I am still trying to figure out how to make lineless coloring not look completely awful, and you make it look so easy! Love your stuff :)
Oh lord after seeing the Ponyboy post, I need you to draw your favorite character from "To Kill a Mockingbird" please please please! I'm dying to see this done. <3
Aw, glad you like my drawing! And oh my goodness, I am so embarrassed, but I have to admit I’ve never read “To Kill a Mockingbird.” :[ I’ve always wanted to, but never got around to it. Gaaah, and I even like to think of myself of at least being somewhat well read. I am so ashamed ;_;
BUT! I will try to track down a copy soon and read it. And when I do, I will draw my favorite character JUST FOR YOU <3
What is one thing you could draw over and over again and never get tired of it?
Hmm, well my default drawing mode is cutesy, pretty girls, so I guess anything that fits into that category? Which is pretty much just a fancy way of saying: Disney Princesses! (Though I not-so-secretly have a huge love for cute goth girls, hence the recent drawings of Death and Wednesday Addams)
Hi I just wanted to say asdfghjkl your art is amazing! I was also wondering if you use a tablet or paper? I'm trying my hand at art and I really adore seeing different art styles. :) sorry to bother you
Oh goodness, you are totally not bothering me at all! That is way too sweet of you to say, thank you! :)
Much of what you see on this blog is digital, especially the more recent sketches. I guess to give an example of my two different medium styles: The drawing I did labeled “Princess” was drawn and colored exclusively with a tablet. The drawing I did of Korra a little while back was drawn and shaded with a pencil and then I threw some color over it in Photoshop (which is why it has a bit more texture.) But really, just experiment with different styles and mediums, and find out what works best for you :) I hope that helps! Feel free to ask more questions if you have any :)
